The 120th Anniversary Celebration Commemorating the Foundation of TOKYO GEIJUTSU DAIGAKU

The 120th Anniversary Celebration Commemorating the Foundation of TOKYO GEIJUTSU DAIGAKU was held magnificently at the Sogakudo Concert Hall on October 4th.

The celebration had approximately 600 attendees. Reflecting on the 120-year history of TOKYO GEIJUTSU DAIGAKU, the President, MIYATA Ryôhei, said during his speech at the ceremony, "The dedicated effort made by our predecessors has contributed a large number of excellent personalities to the society, and TOKYO GEIJUTSU DAIGAKU has played a significant role in the artistic field in Japan." He emphasized that TOKYO GEIJUTSU DAIGAKU would further expand its educational and research activities, and will also proactively engage in collaborating with the society, contributing to the community, and promoting international exchange.

After the congratulatory addresses from home and abroad were completed, the faculty of the Department of Instrumental Music performed the first movement of "Brandenburg Concerto No.5" (Johann Sebastian Bach), creating a spectacular atmosphere for celebrating the 120th anniversary of the establishment.
