Declaration of the Arts
Within the long and illustrious history of East Asia, we have built up an enormous legacy of cultural exchange.
At the present time, leading universities of the arts in Japan, China and South Korea are striving to create new artistic endeavor rooted in deep respect for the traditional arts of their own countries, and communicate that progress to the world.
The 11 universities of the arts gathered for this Summit have engaged in discussions pertaining to their respective and mutual artistic horizons, confirming that it is indeed the arts that serve to bring greater prosperity to the human condition, with cultural exchanges in the arts making a great contribution to the forging of a peaceful and affluent global society.
Based on this keen awareness, the 11 universities represented at this event hereby declare their consensus and determination to cooperate beyond national borders in the quest to cultivate the next generation of outstanding artists, and thereby contribute to the renewed growth and progress of the global arts.
