[DVD] The 1st Graduate Works Collection 2007
Graduate School of Film and New Media, which was newly established as the first national film school in Japan in April 2005, produced its 30 first graduates in March this year.
With the objective of developing creators and film engineers with sophisticated expertise and artistic sense, the graduate school has conducted practical production works, in which students actually create their work under the supervision of a professional faculty that includes professionals such as KITANO Takeshi and KUROSAWA Kiyoshi, who are active leading directors in the front line. Students have repeated practical productions for short films and long films from their first year. Students are supposed to launch a full-scale effort to address "Graduation Works" as their grand finale. The first graduates have produced six films as Graduation Works and these films have been released in the market as a three-DVD set. These films include "A Bao A Qu" (directed by KATO Naoki), which was featured at the 12th Pusan International Film Festival competition, and "Rabbit on the Moon" (directed by IKEDA Chihiro), which was awarded the Yokohama Mayor's Award.
