A piece of bamboo tube split partically lengthwise and carved out to varying widths. The lower end is closed by a node of the bamboo. The player opens the narrowly-cut portion of the lower half with both hands and then sounds the instrument sharply by the force of the bamboo's elasticity. Used as a rththm instrument in the Burmese classical orchestra saing waing.
