body: wood, with snake skin over front face; L.76.0cm
strings: 3, double courses of silk
range: G-g'
tuning: A-d-G

The body has been made by hollowing out a piece of wood to a hemispherical shape. At the base of the fingerboard there is an angular protrusion. The player holds the instrument with the fingerboard at a slant, and plucks with his right hand. Used in accompanying song and dance, as well as for narrative genres.
