A set of panpipes with 32 reed pipes are bound between two long pieces of reed which are sewn together. The upper ends of the the pipes are open, and a node closes the bottom ends. The pipes are arranged roughly in order of length, every third one longer than the preceding two. The upper ends of the pipes are sharply cut, slanting downwards. Expect for the longer pipes, the tuning is close to the Western diatonic major scale.
