The player sits either on a chair holding both drums in his lap, or on the floor with the drums in front of him. The instrument is played with the two thin, stick-like beaters, one held in each hand. Generally, the two drums are tuned a major third of perfect forth apart. Used mainly in ensembles and for accompaniment.
