This drum is suspended horizontally from the neck of the player by means of a cord, and is played in a sitting or standing position. It is played with both hands. Used mostly to accompany folk dance and song. The two heads are differently tuned, and the smaller head is pitched higher by approximately an octave. The right hand strikes the smaller surface.
