The resonating body is made of marquerty work. There is a comma-shaped soundhole in the sound board. The body of the instrument is placed on the right knee and is held in place at a slant with the right arm. The strings are strummed with the right hand. Used as a solo instrument, in ensembles, and in accompaniment of songs and dances.
