14 bamboo pipes in 2 rows of seven; L. 50.8 cm - 73.0 cm
wood wind chamber
range: b'-c'''

A set of bamboo pipes of varying lengths passing through a wind chest in two parallel layers. Held with both hands during performance. The player's breath is directed into a mouth hole at the front of the wind chest. Finger holes are located on the pipes near the wind chest. The same pitch is produced whether the player inhales or exhales. The usual performance technique is to produce harmonies by sounding several pipes simultaneously. Used as a solo and ensemble instrument, as well as for song accompaniment.
