A set of reed pipes held vertically. The player directs his breath across the upper ends of the pipes. which have been cut away sharply. When the instrument is played in conjunction with 447, each instrument supplies the pitches that the other instrument is lacking. Played either solo pr together with other wind and percussion instrument.
