A high register suling used in all types of ensemble. Its techniques are highly developed in accompaniment to vocal music of the gamelan arja. By using various stopping methods of fingerholes, the performer is able to obtain subtle adjustments of pitch appropriate to the register of the singer's voice and mode of the composition.
