The upper bridge is to the right of the player. Played approximately 5cm from the upper bridge with the thumb, index and middle fingers of the right hand, and the frets are pressed with the left hand. Often played with picks placed on the fingers. This instrument produces a clear tone color, and the reverberation is quite long. In classical music, the thumb, index, middle and ring fingers of the right hand are used, but in present-day pieces the little finger of the right hand is also used. Widely used in for solo and ensemble performance, and in the accompaniment of traditional theatre and folk song.
