International Joint Project
“Complex Topography : the Garden”

The Tokyo University of the Arts and Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London was selected for the « Program to Enhance the Function of National Universities » of the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) to start from this year a new international collaboration program. This lead us to launch a new unit, to conduct a Global Art joint curriculum.

The exhibition by 18 contemporary artists based in Britain and Japan will be held in Ritsurin Garden in Takamatsu, Japan. The artists, with different cultural backgrounds, will respond to the contemporary actuality of the Garden today, exploring its historical context as well as the tensions between the natural environment and the inherent artificality of garden design.
