①Practice regular preventive measures, such as frequent hand washing, covering coughs and sneezes. Wear a mask when you are sick with coughing or sneezing.
②Make sure you have enough sleep and regular eating routine to keep yourself in good condition.
③Keep the places and objects touched by multiple people clean. Wash your hands after touching such things.
④Frequently ventilate the rooms used by many people.

(2)If you have fever or symptoms of a common cold:

①  Stay home as much as possible.
② Monitor and record your temperature every day.

(3)Time to call the telephone consulting service operated by your local municipality government:

If your cold-like illness persists, consider consulting for further medical assessment. Check your condition and if your symptoms meet the criteria by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, it is reasonably deemed the right time to call the ’Consultation Center for the people with potential COVID-19 exposure’ (帰国者・接触者相談センター) operated by the local municipality government.

Check the latest guidance by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
Information about the telephone consulting service can be found in (4)below.

Reference: The Japanese Health Ministry’s criteria on when to make a call to the center as of Feb 18, 2020.

○People with any of these symptoms:
■Common cold symptoms or fever over 37.5℃ lasting for at least four days
(including when you need to continue to take an antipyretic).

Make sure to tell the consultee if you had returned from the epidemic areas (Hubei or Zhejiang Province in China), have had close contact with a resident of those areas or patient who had been diagnosed with COVID-19 infection in the past two weeks.

(4)Consultation center for the people with potential COVID-19 exposure(帰国者・接触者相談センター)
